We're here for you
Delta provides practical support for families/whanau and individuals in the Richmond suburb of Christchurch.
At the heart of our community service initiatives is a relational community development approach encouraging community connectedness, inclusiveness and resiliency.
By showing we care, and walking alongside those experiencing hardship, disadvantage, and isolation, we are trusted to provide practical help and impart the necessary skills for real-life change.

Need support or advice? We’re here to help.
If you’re going through a tough time and feeling overwhelmed, Delta is here to support you with advocacy, practical advice, and connections to the right services.
We are part of the Christchurch Foodbank Network and can advise and refer you to emergency food providers when needed. While we do not provide food parcels, we do offer a free community food table.
Free Community Food Table
Our food table is stocked with donated food and bread that is close to or at its use-by date. Availability varies.
Open: Monday to Friday, mornings from 10am (excluding public holidays)
If you’re struggling, you’re welcome to help yourself.
One simple rule: please only take what you need, so others can benefit too.
Thank you to our generous supporters
A huge thank you to Stanmore New World, Foodstuffs Distribution Centre, Meet the Need, Kidd’s Cakes Bakery, the Wool Ladies Trust, Moorhouse Pak’nSave, Satisfy Food Rescue Kaiapoi, and many others who make the community food table possible.

The Friday Inn Café is more than just a means to an affordable, wholesome meal; it is a vibrant community event full of laughter, friendship, and sharing. Occasionally, before the meal is served, we have guest speakers who help to inform our community on various suggested topics.
We remain extremely grateful to our volunteer cooks as well as to those organisations who regularly donate quality food for this meal.

Cultural Support for Migrants and Refugees
We work with those new to Aotearoa New Zealand, giving them the support, they need to get established and make themselves more at home here. This can involve helping migrants and refugees to find their way around Kiwi customs and culture and connecting them with appropriate groups and organisations.
ESOL Classes- In Partnership with PEETO
Tues, Wed, Thurs mornings
Through collaborating with PEETO we can offer NZQA courses to people in our community to carry into employment opportunities. Numbers are strictly limited for these courses, and you need to register to join. If you have residency, please bring your passport with proof of residency to the first class you attend. We do provide places for those members of our community that may not necessarily hold the appropriate visa status.
